Houdini encouraged his younger brother Theodore to tour with his own show with escapes and magic, so using the stage name Hardeen, Theo successfully toured the world for decades. Our faithful facsimile reproduces his 1910 souvenir book Life and History of Hardeen, filled with photos of Hardeen and his famous sibling, plus images of their parents. The first half contains a brief one-page biographical essay and several stories of Hardeen’s escapes and successes, followed by a half-dozen simple effects. A surprisingly interesting little booklet with more than just references to Houdini.

Our facsimile reproduces the 1910 edition from the Todd Karr Collection. Like our other reprints, we haven’t re-typeset the text, so you can see the actual original pages.
