This brief movie scenario made it to the cinema as Houdini’s 1923 silent film Haldane of the Secret Service.
One of three treatments that Houdini published during his Hollywood years, The Mysterious Mr. Yu features the globetrotting adventures of Secret Service agent Heath Haldane, the heroic lead role Houdini eventually played in his 1923 film Haldane of the Secret Service.

The actual text of The Mysterious Mr. Yu is only six pages long, so it’s a very short story, but it’s a fun, quick read and an important Houdini artifact of his movie career. Bonus: The back cover features a full-color reproduction of a 1923 one-sheet poster for Haldane of the Secret Service.
